On September 2, 2023, a landmark cooperation agreement signing ceremony was held in Beijing between the Chinese Association of Pancreatology (CAP) and the American Pancreatic Association (APA). The ceremony was attended by distinguished leaders from both organizations, including Academician Yupei Zhao, President of CAP; Vice Presidents Shusen Zheng and Guang Ning; Academician Jiahong Dong; Supervisor Jie Chen; and Professor Ashok Saluja, Secretary-General of APA. Professor Wenming Wu, Vice President of CAP, and Professor Min Li, President of APA, signed the memorandum on behalf of their respective organizations. This agreement marks a new chapter in the collaboration between China and the United States in the field of pancreatology, aiming to enhance academic exchanges, deepen research cooperation, foster talent development, and promote the high-quality development of pancreatic disease management.  The signing of the memorandum of understanding by Vice President Wenming Wu of CAP and President Min Li of APA, witnessed by leaders from both associations, including Academician Yupei Zhao, President of CAP; Vice Presidents Shusen Zheng and Guang Ning; Academician Jiahong Dong; Supervisor Jie Chen; and Professor Ashok Saluja, Secretary-General of the APA. The parties pledged mutual respect and support, embarking on long-term, friendly cooperation to tirelessly benefit patients with pancreatic diseases. Secretary-General Ashok Saluja of APA congratulated the establishment of CAP, noting the cooperation agreement as an excellent opportunity to address the rising incidence and slow progress in treatment of pancreatic diseases. Professor Saluja encouraged more young researchers to join the field and quoted a Chinese proverb, " If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." expressing good wishes for collaborative progress between China and the United States in pancreatology. Established in January 2022 with approval from China's Ministry of Civil Affairs and other governing bodies, CAP was founded by Academicians Yupei Zhao, Shusen Zheng, Ning Guang, Jiahong Dong, and Professor Jie Chen, facilitating internal organization and international cooperation, offering a specialized platform for medical and scientific professionals in pancreatic diseases in China.
